Free Fun in Central Florida

You don’t always have to reach into your pocket to have fun with friends in Central Florida. There are plenty of things to do in the various towns that if not free- are very frugal.

Take a look at today’s blog to find out some of the suggested ways you can have fun without breaking the bank.

Have a picnic in the park

Picnics are a great alternative to going out and spending money at a restaurant. When you have a picnic with friends you can assign what each person needs to bring- anything from drinks you already have, or leftovers from a meal you made the night before. Even if you have to go to the store for your item, it will only be a couple dollars- nothing too crazy.

Another way you can have a mini picnic in the park is with your four legged friends! Let them run around and when they're done and tired out, set up a blanket you can relax on. Bring water for you and your pet, some snacks, and toys. There are hundreds of parks in the Central Florida area, so pick one and make the most of it!

Spend an afternoon at the beach

This is always a great go-to. Pack up the car with your best pals, snacks, drinks, and hit the road. Very few beaches in Central Florida charge to get on so you’re in the clear. It’s always nice to appreciate the place you live in and take advantage of the area and nature.

Go on a hike

Although Florida has zero mountains or hills, there are still hiking opportunities. Try a national park that's encompassed with trees and wild animals, or even better, go to a natural spring. Hike to a magical water oasis where you can dive in and cool down.

If you’ve never been to a spring before, summer is the perfect time to explore the unknown worlds of Florida. Get up close to manatees, rare birds, and maybe even a dolphin or two. The entry fees are only about five dollars a person and well worth it!

Take a boat trip

Usually one or two of your Central Florida friends will have a boat if someone in your family doesn’t.

Living in Florida, we are blessed with warm weather almost year-round, so it’s understandable if you’re tired of the heat. Take a sunset cruise on the Halifax river or small lake. It’s a perfect opportunity to spend quality time with the people who mean the most to you.

There are plenty of fun things to do in Central Florida that cost nearly nothing, and while the ones we mentioned today are about enjoying the great outdoors, when you put your mind to it, there is plenty to do inside as well- like movie night at home!
