Making Monday’s Movie Night

Who ever said Monday had to be the worst day of the week? At Check on Hold, we are here to put that thought to rest.

If you designate this day of the week to an activity your family and friends love, it’s like an extended weekend! Keep reading to find out how you can make Monday’s your new movie night.

Set a showing schedule

Sometimes the best ways to have fun with family and friends are right in your own home.

Since everyone loves the weekend we thought we’d help extend it by making Monday your new movie night. This way, everyone has something to look forward to when school or work is over and the fun can continue.

Email everyone in your family a monthly showing schedule, or hang it on your fridge. Pick some movies you all want to see and put them on a calendar. This way, no one will forget, and everyone can get excited.

Keep is cozy

Watching movies is a great way to unwind, relax, and escape for an hour or two. This is why it’s also a perfect end to the first day of the week.

It’s okay if you don’t have a huge living room with multiple couches if you’re in the company of the ones you love anything will suffice. Use bean bags, chairs, or cushions from another couch and lay them on the floor. Take all the pillows inside your house and make one big fluffy cloud.

Provide a pot-luck buffet

One of the greatest parts about hosting a regular family event at your home for the week is knowing what you’re having for dinner. Have it potluck style and ask each member to bake or bring something. This way, you’re not the only one doing all the work.

Set up one long table and have everyone make plates before the movie starts. Now everyone can eat what they want when they want. After all, is it really a movie without snacks?

Save time to talk

Either turn your movie screenings into a movie club or keep it simple family night style. Either way, save time to talk and engage.

Keep in mind it is a school or work night for most so if you want to save time to chat before the movie, eat all together and talk. The most important thing about these gatherings is spending time with those you love.

At Check on Hold, we do all we can to help you have fun in the most reasonable ways possible. It’s not always about spending money and going out, sometimes the best way to bond is right at home. If you ever need more advice on free or frugal fun checks out more from our blog!
